How to react during hot weather and heatwaves?

During a heatwave, homeless people are in real danger. Nearly 30,000 homeless individuals live far from any water sources.

Unlike winter, when a well-structured "Extreme Cold Plan" is in place, there are no specific measures adapted for heatwaves, which actually cause more deaths than winter does…
This is compounded by the fact that many shelters close, creating an additional challenge.

But how should you react?

1- If you see someone on the street in obvious distress or showing signs of dehydration, do not hesitate to provide them with water or, if necessary, point them toward nearby water fountains using the www.soliguide.fr platform, which lists, for example, nearly 430 fountains in Paris.

2- You can also direct them to open shelters and libraries where they can take cover and stay in the shade.

3- If you have an extra hat, beret, or cap, donate it so they can protect themselves from sunstroke.

4- In the event of a medical emergency, do not hesitate to call 15.
