A new tool to visualize food aid services in France

A key challenge: making local food aid visible to take better action‍

In France, thousands of organizations work every day to ensure access to food for people in precarious situations. However, given the diversity of services—solidarity grocery stores, meal distributions, food parcels, group workshops, and more—it remains difficult to get a comprehensive overview.‍

How can we know if a region is properly covered? What services are offered and to whom? Where should efforts be focused to supplement existing services?

👉 To answer these questions, Soliguide and its partners have co-developed a new tool: the food aid dashboard, available on the Solidataplatform.

Developed using Soliguide data, this interactive dashboard allows you to:

The goal? Moving from a reactive, emergency-based approach to one rooted in coordination and dignity, where food is once again a fundamental right, rather than a bare-minimum response to hardship.

🧩 A tool designed for and with those on the front lines

This dashboard is the result of a collaborative process, conducted in 2023-2024 with non-profits, local authorities, public institutions, and social and solidarity economy organizations.

It is part of a paradigm shift: recognizing that access to healthy, chosen food requires a systemic vision, shared data, and tools adapted to the complexities of the field.
