In 2019 more than ever, we found ourselves caught between two contradictory imperatives. First, the digital divide, which became even more pronounced as the "all-digital" administration of 2022 approached, and conversely, the imperative of technological solutionism. This year, Solinum declared: "Neither one nor the other!" Digital technology is not an end in itself, any more than a cement mixer is a house. In both cases, it is merely a tool that, in some instances, allows for greater efficiency and the creation of impactful solutions. Informed by its work carried out in 2018 and analyzed in 2019 (Homeless People and Digital Technology: Equipment, Uses, and Digital Skills of Homeless Individuals in France in 2018), Solinum proudly upholds its convictions for a reasoned approach to digital technology, created with and for its beneficiaries, taking into account their specific needs. Following the release of our study, a period of several months of introspection brought together the entire Solinum team to reflect on the organization's vision, mission, values, and operating principles.
