The COVID-19 health crisis was a very intense testing period for the Soliguide project.
On the one hand, we were confronted with the stark reality of the vulnerability of people experiencing precariousness and homelessness. Faced with the virus, these individuals, whose health is already fragile, were even more at risk. The difficulty in getting information and applying protective measures increased the risk of contracting severe forms of the illness, and access to healthcare was often delayed. Adding to this, from March 16th, was the sudden and massive closure of social support and assistance structures, leaving many people completely destitute.
On the other hand, the entire team knew that Soliguide had a crucial role to play in working together to help as many people as possible get through this crisis.
We were ready ! Since 2016, with the support of numerous public and private partners, we have built a strong solidarity network across 8 regions, which allowed us to become, within a week, an information and coordination hub to respond to the crisis.
